The
“Fantastic Four” (as they jokingly refer to
themselves) may not be able to leap tall buildings in
a single bound nor bend steel in their bare hands, but
faster than a speeding bullet they can put together tours
and programs that can change the course of your stay in
St. Charles.
At
DISCOVER ST. CHARLES we feel it is important for you
to know the people to whom you are entrusting your business.
The “Fantastic Four” are:
Owner and president, Kelly purchased the company in 2000.
She began her career in the tourism industry as a part-time
guide for the St. Louis Convention & Visitors Commission.
For seven seasons she put her marketing degree to good
use as Director of Group Sales at The Muny. In 2005 she
created Discover St. Charles LLC as a sister company to
Discover St. Louis. In her rare spare time, she’s
been learning to drive a 1967 London cab with the steering
on the right and a manual transmission – and trying
to remember to drive on the right side of the street.
She also enjoys her book club and gardening.
Susan may have a teaching degree but found her niche
first as a tour guide and then as Director of Tours
for Discover St. Charles. In 2003 she established an
association for other guides working in her beloved
city. Susan’s primary focus is the corporate,
convention and meetings market where she spreads her
enthusiasm for St. Charles. She collects books and memorabilia
relating to St. Charles and loves to travel, her latest
trip being to China. Like the mailman, neither rain
nor sleet nor snow can keep her from walking to work.
Judi worked in marketing and sales at Southwestern Bell.
Although she took early retirement, she has been far
from idle. One of the most energetic and knowledgeable
guides in St. Charles, Judi is also a valued member
of the office staff. Her specialty is working with military
reunions and escorting multi-day trips. Fortunately,
her work schedule still allows time for golf, bridge
and her “Traveling Bags” group.
Kris has a degree in political science, but the travel
industry is her passion. She started her tourism career
as a cave guide and has served as Director of the Hannibal
Convention & Visitors Bureau and Tour & Travel
Manager for the Missouri Division of Tourism. She has
extensive knowledge of Missouri and has written about
its many attractions for several publications. Kris
uses her background to create interesting and innovative
packages for the tour and travel market. Along with
baseball, Lewis & Clark is one of her favorite subjects
(she has escorted tours of the entire trail), and Kris
is known to burst into song at the slightest provocation.
